Description of content: Reference to Ministerial Decree Number (749) of year 2014 concerning the imposition of the temporary ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their products including poultry meat, day-old chicks, hatching eggs, except heat-treated meat from the United Kingdom, and in accordance to the Follow-up report No. 14 (Final report) of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in the United Kingdom on 17 February 2015, the United Arab Emirates is lifting the ban on the importation of domestic and wild birds and their products including poultry meat, day-old chicks and eggs originating from the United Kingdom.

Nature of the urgent problem(s) and reason for urgent action: Regarding Follow-up report No.14 (Final report) of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in the United Kingdom on 17 February 2015. In compliance with Article 10.4.4, Chapter 10.4 of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, the United Kingdom is now free from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza disease. The risk of contamination from importing poultry and poultry products from the United Kingdom is negligible.
