Description of content: The Draft stipulates the requirements for measuring instruments placed on the Moldovan market. It is developed to determine the essential requirements measuring instruments must meet in order to ensure a higher level of consumers' protection.

Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems where applicable: This technical regulation will optimize the existing regulatory framework establishing more effective and less trade restrictive procedures for the conformity assessment. Additionally, the Draft repeals previous approval/certification procedure of measuring instruments and stipulates that measuring instruments must be verified by the accredited conformity assessment bodies.
