Description of content: This regulation provides requirements on technical safety and test methods for electric bicycles. Electric bicycles are 2 wheels-bicycle powered by DC motor or by pedal-power with DC motor power-assisted, having power not exceeding 250 W, designated maximum speed of not over 25 km/h and curb weight (battery included) not exceeding 40 kg. Classification of electric bicycles is stipulated in the Addendum 1 of this Draft.

This draft technical regulation applies to agencies, organizations or individuals having their manufactures, assemblies, imports, verification, testing, quality management and certification of electric bicycles.
