Description of content: This draft Circular regulates the organization and operation of accreditation bodies and the management of accreditation activities in Vietnam.

This proposed Circular shall apply to:

·                Bodies who supply accreditation services (hereinafter referred to as accreditation bodies)

·                Recognized conformity assessment bodies

·                State management agencies involved in accreditation activities

General principles:

The accreditation bodies shall ensure operation competence and meet the requirements specified in national regulations, international regulations and requirements of IAF, ILAC, APLAC, PAC.

The accreditation bodies shall ensure independent, subjective and non-discrimitative operation; secure all information relevant to those bodies requesting accreditation; not carry out consultancy on accreditation for those bodies requesting accreditation.

The head and legal representatives of accreditation bodies shall fulfill requirements of experience, professional capability, etc.

The experts of accreditation bodies shall be trained and knowledgeable in relevant activities to carry out accreditation.
