Description of content: This Code of Practice for Radiation Processing provides guidance for the relevant stakeholders on the sanitary and phytosanitary aspects of radiation processing. This Code covers all food processed by gamma rays, X-rays or accelerated electrons for the purpose of, among other things, control of foodborne pathogens, reduction of microbial load, control of quarantine pest, inhibition of the germination of root crops, and extension of shelf life.
