Description of content: This Order seeks to ensure conformity to Stainless Steel Products listed in the Schedule to the specified Indian Standard. The Order read together with ITC (HS), 2012 Schedule 1 – Import Policy (General Notes Regarding Import Policy) applies to domestic production as well as imports. The Order makes it mandatory for all manufacturers of stainless steel products as given in the schedule to the order, to obtain valid license from the Bureau of Indian Standards for use of the standard mark before commencement of regular production of such items. Further, no person shall manufacture, store for sale, sell, distribute or import any stainless steel product given in the said schedule, which do not conform to the specified standards and do not bear standard mark of the Bureau on obtaining certification marks license.
