Description of content: The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) previously notified the proposed amendments to the Enforcement Rule of the Food Sanitation Act through G/SPS/N/KOR/507 with regards to the labelling of certifications or assurance of products. As follow-up measures, MFDS will establish the "Regulation for Designation of Certification·Assurance Agency for Foods and Livestock Products" in order to lay down procedures, qualification, etc. necessary for the designation of a Certification Assurance Agency, including the following:
a) Establish details regarding the Deliberative Committee
b) Provide standards for designating a Certification Assurance Agency
c) Lay down the application procedures, specify qualifications, etc.
d) Establish reporting requirements on designation status
