The purpose of these directives to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality of Plugs and Socket-Outlets for Household and Similar General Use marketed in Saudi Arabia and their performance according to their intended purpose and also to reduce the fraud on this vital product because of the harmful effects and the problems occurred for the consumers including electric shock, fire and damage of electrical equipments which will at the end affect negatively health and safety of consumers in Saudi Arabia as well as the waste of national economy.
