Description of content: This Ministerial Decree provides producers and importers a transitional period of six months to comply with the modified Egyptian Standard ES 132?2 /2015 "Preserved Tomato Products – Part 2 Tomatoes Packed" (14 pages, in Arabic) that supersedes its last edition in 2005 that has been already mandated by Ministerial Decree No. 130/2005.

This standard complies with Codex Standard No. 13/2013. It specifies the essential requirements and descriptive criteria for preserved tomatoes which is described in clause (2) from this standard which is intended for direct consumption including retail purposes or repackaging if necessary.

This Standard also applies to the product when it is indicated as being intended for further processing. The Standard does not include dried tomatoes and preserved tomatoes containing other vegetables such as pepper and onions in quantities that materially alter the flavour, aroma and taste of the tomato component.
