Description of content: This Ministerial Decree provides producers and importers a transitional period of six months to comply with the modified Egyptian Standard Egyptian Standard ES 2732-1/2015 "Table Salt fortified with iodine and test methods Part 1: Table Salt fortified with iodine" (10 pages, Arabic) that supersedes its last edition in 2005 that has already been mandated by Ministerial Decree No. 515/2005.

This standard complies with Codex Standard No. 156/1985 (Amend 1, 1999 Amend 2, 2012) for food grade salt and B.S No. 998/1990 Amend 2006 "Specification for Vacuum Salt for food use".

This standard specifies the essential requirements and descriptive criteria  for food grade salt fortified with Iodine.
