Description of content: The notified Standard NAG-140 covers the use of polyethylene (PE) for the distribution of gaseous fuels and comprises seven parts: Part 1: General requirements. Raw material; Part 2: Pipes; Part 3: Accessories; Part 4: Valves; Part 5: Integration capacity of system components; Part 6: Minimum requirements for installation; and Part 7: Conformity assessment.

The notified Standard applies to PE 80 and PE 10 piping systems for the supply of gaseous fuels with a maximum working pressure of 10 bar and a reference temperature of 20° C, with correction factors for temperatures other than 20° C.

It provides for a two-year adjustment period for manufacturing plants, and a one-year period in which both the notified standard and the standard currently in force will be applicable.
