Description of content: This Draft of Conformity Scheme shall apply to any device that uses electricity for use in potentially explosive atmosphere. This includes equipment for generation, transmission, distribution, storage, measurements, controls, processing and consumption of electricity and telecommunication equipment.

Components, understood as part of electrical construction, which should not be used alone in an explosive atmosphere and require an additional certification when incorporated into an electrical construction or electrical systems for potentially explosive atmospheres are also covered by this scheme.
